Position Description:
Chassis Engineering Brake Controls Design & Release Engineer Lead design of forward model electronic brake systems, including hardware and software Perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses to examine potential failure modes and design suitable fail-safe strategies Guide key supplier partners through the Global Product Development System (GPDS) process, from to Work with EESE, Powertrain, SMT, and Vehicle Program teams to ensure that vehicle interfaces are defined and supported Negotiate system costs and prepare business cases for Vehicle Programs Prepare presentation materials and represent the Brake Controls organization at program meetings and gateway reviews
Skills Required:
Must have ability and authority to provide guidance to Brake Controls supplier staff and ability to interface with upper level management Work with minimal supervision and able to function effectively in a matrix organization Design & Release or development experience in brakes or other chassis systems Experience with FMEA and related quality assurance processes Self-starter who can learn to use new tools and find solutions ability to troubleshoot & fix vehicle problems Outstanding leadership and communication skills Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production in a short time period

Experience Required:
Experience in supplier management and cost negotiation Design or development experience in chassis or powertrain controls Familiarity with digital and analog data acquisition systems Awareness of, or experience with ISO 26262 Experience with complex system analysis tools & methods
Experience Preferred:
Familiarity with vehicle network communication (CAN) & associated tools (e.g. CANalyzer)
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (DO NOT SUBMIT CANDIDATES WITH ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY DEGREES
Education Preferred:
MS Engineering
